The Food Shelf is proud to be 100% staffed by volunteers. Each day volunteers stock shelves, make appointments for clients, shop with clients, pick up and order food. Most volunteers pick a day of the week and work that day. That day’s crew develops great friendships while helping others. Currently, the Food Shelf has over 50 active volunteers.
Several restaurants package their excess items instead of throwing them away at the end of a day. Coffee shops donate their baked goods. If you have useable items that our Food Shelf could use to feed or help clients in need let us know. We can pickup.Several businesses donate their excess inventory of groceries and paper products that greatly help clients.
Other businesses have incorporated ideas to collect food shelf donations. Ideas have include stuff a truck, grocery grab, or a food drive
